Prepare To Die For America in 2012

With a stable of lukewarm McCainish Republicans galloping towards 2012, there have been plenty of reminders of what Ross Perot meant when he ran – a split for the Republican establishment. Now at this point I have not advocated for any candidate but I think it is clear that I favor the likes of Ron Paul and Gary Johnson maybe even Herman Cain. The question remains, would any of them, Palin or even Trump run as a third party if they failed to garner the GOP nomination.

I am a libertarian with a small ‘l’ and a Republican with a capital ‘R.’ What I mean by that is that I vote Republican but I identify strongly with libertarian values just not the idea of a third party. I believe that the national GOP ought to be libertarian, because right now they are nothing more than democrats and I hate them for it.

What would a third party run mean?

The major argument against conservative third party candidates is that they eat votes for the GOP nominee just like Ross Perot did. According to those who ascribe to this idea, a third party would put the nail in the coffin of republicans. I mean, they are not perfect conservatives but at least the better than the other guy, right? Wrong. We are repeating history, and worse than that, a history that is barely old enough to be called history.

We already know where this leads. We lost in 2008 but took major ground in 2010 by being the very opposite of the current 2012 stable. The Tea Party Freshman class of congressmen are outspoken conservatives. That is why we swept the mid-terms the way we did. We have every possibility of hitting the trifecta in 2012, but we will not. I mentioned in one of my podcasts who I predicted for the 2012 ticket: Romney-Pawlenty. These are two guys I do not hate, and in 2008 I was behind Romney over McCain.

If we are going to lose, I would prefer it be by the hand of a third party. The world is on fire, America has very little left in the way of true Americans and we are drowned in a pool of our own debt. I happen to believe that America may in its final days of its first run of glory. I say first run because I think we shall – unlike any great society before us – rise from our ashes and lead the globe once again. The actions of our sitting president and plenty of presidents from the past have weakened us. People who hate the idea of a third party splitting the vote use our vulnerable position in the globe as a reason to vote republican regardless of the conservative nature of the candidate.

This is a hill people like myself must be willing to die on. I am prepared to pick up the pieces of our nation and rebuild it brick-by-brick if we lose in 2012. Why? Because you have to touch the stove to know it burns. It is time to liquidate the GOP of the fakes and nonbelievers and if we have to watch our nation burn as a result, then so be it. My generation is not very conservative because of they have not seen proper examples. This will force us to be the next great generation. It will be an experience we will not soon forget. Unlike the last great generation, we will record it, tweet it and blog about it. It will not soon forget, we will tell our children and grandchildren about what we did to put America back together. It will teach my generation the sacrifice it needs to learn.

This is the free market approach. Fellow conservatives, libertarians, and tea party participators should be on the same page with me.

We should sear this lesson in the mind of the coming generation – be a real conservative or see yourself out.
